As a finished product, Colorquartz Surfaces pose no health or hazardous concerns. However, silica dust derived from the fabrication process contains respirable crystalline silica. The fabrication process includes cutting, polishing, grinding, sanding and drilling of material. Hence, fabricators involved in the fabrication process whether at the fabrication shop or upon installing and demolishing Colorquartz slabs are at risk for significant crystalline silica exposure. During the fabrication process, it is thus necessary to consider the health implications when handling quartz slabs.
